Soaking in the Presence of God

When I soak in the presence of God, I close my eyes so I can see in the spirit.

I seal my lips I can listen rather than speak.
I lie down because it’s the lowly place, the laid down life place.

And I wait…Until He comes.

His glory falls.

I sense the river of life around me. I see it flowing through the door – that is Jesus.

His presence fills the room and spreads across the floor.

I step into the rushing river. I am knee deep in the water, but I am still in control, until I completely immerse myself in Him.

I lie down in the river of God.
I lay down everything and fully submerge myself in Him.

After soaking in God’s presence, my spirit is awakened and my soul is filled with His resurrection life! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me, and just as God raised Jesus from the dead He will give life to my mortal body!

Romans 8:11

Soaking in god’s presence is to experience the divine exchange of Isaiah 61.

I was tired, I arose energized. Weary, now refreshed. Fear turned into courage, and discouragement to hope.

Joshua 3:14-17

God’s spirit revealed to me the similarities between how to soak in the presence of God and the story in Joshua 3:14 -17.

God commanded the Israelite’s to cross the Jordan river at flood stage.

The priests walked into a rushing river carrying the weighty Arc of the Covenant – which was literally the Presence of God!

I imagine the Israelites stepping into the river ankle deep, than knee, chest and finally neck deep in the rushing water, until God pulled back the waters so they could cross over into the Promised Land.

What a beautiful image of trust, intimacy and soaking in the presence of God.

Going deep down into the powerful presence of God and coming up, out and into the promise land. A new place, A new day, and a new life.

This is a year of crossing over into promise land living. It’s an exiting time to be alive on earth. It’s an important time to press in to God.
